SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — An appellate court has upheld a New Jersey Superior Court judge’s ruling to toss the case against South Jersey power broker George Norcross and his associates.
In the ruling, appeals court judges said some of the charges filed were time-barred. With other counts, the court said the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office failed to state the offense or law that was broken.
Norcross and several others were accused of using their power and influence to secure deals and tax incentives for themselves while icing out rivals.
This case could be appealed to the state Supreme Court, but with a new attorney general in office, it’s unclear if she plans to continue this battle.
