PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy have joined two other Democratic governors of states near New York, all calling for the resignation of Gov. Andrew Cuomo after that state's attorney general found Cuomo sexually harassed multiple current and former state government employees.
"We are appalled at the findings of the independent investigation by the New York Attorney General. Governor Cuomo should resign from office," Murphy, Wolf, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, and Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee said in a shared statement.
State Attorney General Letitia James announced the findings Tuesday.
The investigation, conducted by two outside lawyers, found that the Cuomo administration was a hostile work environment "``rife with fear and intimidation."
Cuomo faced multiple allegations last winter that he inappropriately touched and sexually harassed women who worked with him or who he met at public events.
Cuomo remained defiant Tuesday following the investigation's findings, saying that "the facts are much different than what has been portrayed."
