PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — One man was killed and another was injured in a shootout at a Philadelphia Housing Authority complex in the Poplar neighborhood late Wednesday night.

It happened just before midnight outside the Richard Allen Homes near Ninth and Brown streets.

A 30-year-old man was shot in both hands and the leg. He is in stable condition. A 24-year-old man was killed.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said police haven’t been able to find surveillance video of the shooting yet.

“Housing police, they tell me that there are no housing cameras at this location,” he said. “We do have some police real-time crime cameras about one block away, but they did not record anything at this time.”

Small said they’re checking for doorbell cameras in the area that might have captured something.

Investigators found at least 58 spent shell casings — two different calibers, and about a block apart. Detectives think the gunmen were firing at each other from down the block.
