PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Delaware man is facing multiple charges after police said he drove a flatbed tractor-trailer while under the influence and struck a dozen parked cars in Newark.
It happened around 5:15 a.m. Saturday in the Harmony Woods community, right off Ogletown-Stanton Road.
Authorities said 53-year-old Brian Johnston crashed into 12 cars throughout the neighborhood on Melodic Drive, Duet Drive and Acapella Court. He also hit mailboxes and a street sign.
Officers said Johnston was acting impaired, and they found drugs — including crack cocaine, fentanyl and prescription meds — in the tractor-trailer.
He was taken into custody. Police did not mention any injuries.
