Delaware County man charged with firing AR-15 outside, killing woman in nearby home

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 30-year-old man from East Lansdowne has been charged with homicide after, police say, gunfire from his AR-15 entered his neighbor's home and killed a woman.

Yousuf Bahal, 30, faces a charge of criminal homicide and is currently at Delaware County Prison.

According to East Lansdowne Police, officers found Bahal shooting an AR-15 in front of his home on Penn Boulevard at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

When an officer confronted him that morrning, he dropped his gun and was taken into custody, police said.

Investigators said that they found a 35-year-old woman who was wounded inside a neighboring house. She was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where she died.

According to law enforcement, investigators found at least 30 rounds discharged from his gun.
