PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Delaware Valley University football team advanced to the national quarterfinals of the Division III playoffs.

After beating Randolph-Macon College 39-32 in the second round of playoffs, the Aggies will welcome the perennial power Mount Union Purple Raiders to Doylestown Saturday at noon. This is their third-straight week hosting a playoff game.

The Purple Raiders have earned 13 national championships since 1993.

They picked up wins over Salisbury University and Utica University in the first two rounds.

Both the Purple Raiders and Aggies are 12-0 heading into the quarterfinals.

Aggies head coach Duke Greco said the Purple Raiders have an excellent quarterback and throw the ball extremely well.

“Like us, if you get behind the sticks, you get into 3rd and 10, 3rd and 11 – they have the d-line to get after you and put pressure on you.”

Greco is looking forward to being in front of fans, family and the school at Saturday’s game.

“It’s going to be a great crowd, great atmosphere…”
