PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — During the pandemic, many people fell behind on preventive tests and routine physical examinations.
Social distancing was critical and doctors only saw the sickest patients in person. One area that was hard hit was childhood vaccinations. Many of the routine shots for infants and small children were delayed.
According to a report by the World Health Organization, there has been a return to childhood vaccinations as well as a catch-up for children who missed vaccines. Certain countries are further behind than others, but efforts are being made to help children catch up.
The closer we get to 100%, the greater the chance of keeping serious illness at bay.
