DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — A local woman faces charges after allegedly trying to steal upwards of $20,000 from a Delaware County Little League team. According to authorities, her scheme struck out.
Delaware County authorities issued an arrest warning this week for 57-year-old Robin Massing, accusing her of targeting Media’s Little League organization since 2025.
Delaware County District Attorney Tanner Rouse said Massing was running a sophisticated, yet rudimentary scheme.
“Basically [she was] swiping checks out of the mail while washing them and using them for her own purpose,” he explained.
However, upper management became suspicious and reached out to the district attorney’s office.
“It is bad enough under any circumstance, but it is particularly appalling because these are checks and this is money that was designated for our kids,” he said.
“If you think about what $20,000 can mean to those teams, can mean to those facilities, can mean to that community, it is an extraordinary amount of money.”
Rouse said Massing, a transient who is not affiliated with the league, is no stranger to these kinds of scams. She tried the same thing in Chester County, where she’s facing similar charges. “She’s a pro. She’s someone who does this, in effect, for a living,” he said.
Massing has been charged with felony counts of forgery, bad checks, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
Authorities said Massing will be arraigned upon her arrest.
