PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The U.S. Department of Education and Drexel University have agreed on a plan to address concerns over discrimination on campus.
The department's Office for Civil Rights announced Friday that Drexel is changing how it responds to student complaints. In part, that means the school is reviewing how it has responded to reports over the last two years.
Drexel is also re-evaluating how it decides when an incident has created a hostile environment on campus.
Drexel was one of a few schools in the area the Department has investigated recently after reports of antisemitism and Islamophobia.
The University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers University and Lafayette College are also under investigation.
