NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A deputy from the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office was attacked by a dog while serving an arrest warrant in Northeast Philadelphia Thursday morning.
Officials said it happened around 8 a.m. along Colony Drive near Holme Avenue in the city's Holme Circle neighborhood.
The Sheriff’s office said the dog bit the deputy several times in the leg, and the deputy discharged his firearm at the dog.
He is being treated at an area hospital, and his condition is not being disclosed.
It is unknown at this time if the dog was wounded or killed in the incident.
Two men and a woman were arrested at a home on Colony Drive on warrants from Delaware and Bucks counties.
