PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — In the latest of their monthly conversations, KYW’s Matt Leon and Villanova University professor and economist David Fiorenza take a broader look at economic happenings in the country.

Aside from the wild card of what could happen with the looming debt ceiling, they discuss things like cooling inflation and the recent retail sales report, which showed a 4% increase in April.

They also discuss the labor market, which shows no signs of slowing.

Fiorenza feels the Federal Reserve is finally getting its message across and that the economic rise is good. He also predicts a positive outlook along the Jersey Shore for Memorial Day weekend.
