Rider ejected from dirt bike in head-on collision with car in Port Richmond

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A dirt bike rider is in critical condition after they crashed into a car, went airborne, and landed on top of another car in Port Richmond overnight.

It was just after midnight when Philadelphia police said the rider was speeding down Delaware Avenue, near Castor Avenue. The biker crossed lanes into oncoming traffic and struck a Chevy Cobalt head-on.

The force of the collision ejected the rider from the bike. They were thrown about 100 yards, where they then struck another car that was parked on the shoulder of the road with a flat tire.

The dirt bike rider suffered a fractured leg, a head injury, and other bumps and bruises. The drivers of the two cars are OK.
