PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A DoorDash driver was shot in East Mount Airy Monday.
According to our partners at NBC10, police were called to the 1500 block of E Johnson Street for reports of a shooting just before 5 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a 29-year-old man face down in a driveway with gunshot wounds to the back. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is listed in critical condition.
The 29-year-old told police he’s a food delivery driver for DoorDash and was working at the time of the shooting. He said he had parked his car and was getting out when he saw someone approaching with a gun. He tried to get away but was shot and collapsed in the driveway.
Police say there were five spent shell casings in the driveway. What led to the shooting is not yet known.
No arrests have been made.
