PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The daily average of new COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania continues a steep decline.
The seven-day daily average of new cases in Pennsylvania is around 1,300. It hasn't been that low since mid-October.
One month ago, the spring spike peaked around 5,000 cases per day before steadily dropping. For comparison, the winter spike hit about 10,000 cases in mid-December.
The statewide positivity rate, the percentage of all tests that came back positive, is 5.3%. The state's goal is under 5%.
Montgomery County's positivity rate is down to 3.8%, while it's seven-day daily average of new cases is down to 62. That peaked at over 300 in April.
Bucks County is down to a seven-day average of 72 cases per day, down from the spring peak of 278.
Delaware County's positivity rate is down down to 3.7%, while average daily cases dropped to 54. That topped out last month at more than 240 per day.
Chester County's positivity rate dropped to 3.8%. The seven-day average of new cases dropped to 35 per day. One month ago, Chester County averaged nearly 200 cases per day.
