PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three people were struck by gunfire late Thursday night in the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia in an apparent drive-by shooting.

It happened just after 11:30 p.m. at Eighth and Cambria streets. A 24-year-old man was shot in the ankle, a 36-year-old man was shot in the back, and a 34-year-old woman was shot in the foot. One of the men was sitting in a folding chair when he was shot. They are all expected to physically recover.

"We found five spent shell casings, so we know at least five shots were fired from a semi-automatic weapon," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Investigators are looking for the shooter. Small admits that detectives don't have much to go on right now.

"We don't have a motive," he said. "According to a witness, this may have been a drive-by shooting. So we don't have a description of a shooter or shooters, nor do we have a description of the vehicle."

Several houses on the 2800 block of North Eighth Street have cameras, so police hope video surveillance will provide information to aid the investigation.
