1 dead, 3 injured in NE Philly crash

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 19-year-old is dead and three others injured after a crash in Northeast Philadelphia.

Police say around 10:30 p.m. Friday the driver of a Toyota Camry lost control of the vehicle while trying to merge lanes and veered into oncoming traffic on Red Lion Road.

The driver then struck a street sign and collided with multiple unoccupied paratransit vehicles.

Four people inside the camry were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police say one of the passengers, a 19-year-old, died a few hours later. Two people, including the driver, are in stable condition. A fourth person is in critical condition.

The crash is under investigation.
