PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A driver was shot in the head in Graduate Hospital Monday night.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. near 17th and South streets.
Police found the driver slumped over and rushed him to the hospital, where he remains in extremely critical condition.
Authorities believe the shooter was in the back seat of the car.
“Where we found him inside of this parked Toyota Prius, the engine was still running,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small. “And in the back seat of that vehicle, we found a spent shell casing.”
Police also have surveillance video of a man dressed in all black getting out of the car and running west on South Street.
“At least one of the cameras recorded a male exiting the passenger-side rear seat through the passenger-side door after the shooting,” said Small. “And that male is dressed in all black with a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head.”
