8 injured, including infant, after suspected drunk driver slams into horse and buggy in Lancaster County

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A suspected drunk driver slammed his Prius into the back of a horse and buggy in Lancaster County on Sunday, sending eight people to the hospital.

It happened around 4:15 p.m. on Lincoln Highway East in Paradise Township. The youngest passenger in the buggy was 5 months old.

The conditions of each passenger are unknown. Police only said they suffered “different levels of injuries.”

The Prius driver has been identified as 27-year-old James Walkergoutal, of West Chester. Police said he was drunk and high.

He is facing DUI and reckless driving charges.
