'Man, keep going': Jalen Hurts pays surprise visit to Neumann-Goretti football team

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts gave a Philadelphia high school football team a lifelong memory earlier this week. NBC 10 had the exclusive story of Hurts' surprise visit to Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti Catholic High School on Giving Tuesday ahead of the Saints' state semifinal game on Friday.

"Regardless of what y'all got going on, man, keep going," Hurts told the team. "Keep going, because can't nothing stop you."

NBC 10 showed the moment when Hurts knocked on the door of Neumann-Goretti's facility while the team was gathered inside. The players were in shock to see the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles walk through the door.

Hurts immediately started to pump the team up.

"I was shocked when he opened the door," defensive back Raleigh Collins told NBC10.

Linebacker Anthony Johnson said he thought it was fake at first.

"To see somebody like Jalen, you know, to be able to take some time out of his week just means a lot," coach Albie Crosby said.

Hurts not only talked to the whole team, but also personally chatted with Collins and Johnson. Collins has committed to West Virginia University, according to his Twitter page, and Johnson has committed to Rutgers.

Crosby said his players could hear Hurts' sincerity.

In addition to offering valuable advice, Hurts also handed out athletic apparel from Eastbay, a company he is partnering with.
