PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police in Chester County are looking for whoever tried to burglarize the home of Eagles running back Saquon Barkley Saturday morning.
Tredyffrin Township police received a call around 5 a.m. about a burglary in progress at a Malvern home. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had fled the area.
Barkley said he and his family were home at the time. He said they were fortunate no one was hurt and nothing was taken.
“When something like that happens, you’re going to be shaken up,” he told NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark. “Your peace is going to be disturbed a little bit. Just a little more aware that I got to be a little sharper with my security. We just upped the security.”
Police are looking for a white GMC Yukon Denali they believe was involved in the incident.
"We know there's more than one, but we're still trying to determine how many were involved," Capt. Tyler Moyer of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department told NBC10.
Police said they did not hear about any similar incidents happening in the area overnight or early Saturday morning.
The Chester County District Attorney’s Office is helping with the ongoing investigation.
