PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man was shot and killed in East Kensington Sunday night. Police are looking for the suspects and their getaway car.
It started around 9:30 p.m. in a parking lot behind apartments near Lehigh and Frankford avenues.
Chief Inspector D.F. Pace said, “What we saw was two males get out of an SUV, possibly gray or darker in color, and began running toward the eventual gunshot victim, firing at him multiple times as the individual was trying to get away.”
He said there were at least 20 spent shell casings at the scene.
The 26-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where he died. He was later identified as DaJuan Coffee.
After the shooting, the two suspects got into their SUV and sped off. Anyone with information on them or their car is asked to contact police at 215-686-8477.
