PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — An 80-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a PECO vehicle Thursday afternoon, according to Philadelphia police.
The collision happened just after 2:30 p.m. at the corner of Academy Road and Morrell Avenue, right next to Northeast Philadelphia Airport.
Police said that the woman was trying to cross a road when the truck, going southbound on Academy Road, struck her.
Rescue crews took her to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, but she died there.
There was no arrest on scene.
