PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There are thousands of excellent studies that support exercise and its health benefits. People who exercised were healthier and lived longer.

A study in the British Journal of Sports Medicine looking at men found that those who increased the amount they exercised by just 3% per year over five years reduced their chances of developing prostate cancer by 35%.

For more than 40 years, the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences has been conducting studies on the benefits of exercise in both men and women. Exercise has been shown to help reduce the risk of several forms of cancer.
