PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 17-year-old boy is dead, and three other kids, including a 7-year-old, are wounded after a shooting incident in the Ogontz section of the city. Philadelphia police say it happened just before 6 p.m. on North 21st Street and West Nedro Avenue, near Belfield Playground.

The 17-year-old boy, shot in the face, was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m.

"They're always in the playground playing ball. They walked to the store to go get water, right. So I heard like 10 to 15 shots, and then the next thing you know they say my baby's laying in the middle of the street dead," the boy's grandmother told NBC10.

"He was innocent. He was trying to go to the store. Why did they kill my grandson? They broke my heart. I'm never gonna be the same."

The three other victims are in stable condition at the hospital: a 7-year-old, shot in the thigh; a 16-year-old boy, shot in the shoulder; and a 15-year old boy, shot in the head and the back.

Police told NBC10 a stray bullet hit the 7-year-old boy as he was walking on the sidewalk, and he was separate from the group of teens.

Police have not announced any arrests, and no weapons have been recovered.

Three more people were shot in a separate incident in Frankford on the 4800 block of Tackawanna Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, including a 60-year-old woman, a 56-year-old woman, and a 39-year-old man. All three are in the hospital in stable condition.
