PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Federal authorities are looking for a serial bank robber who they say has hit at least seven banks in the Center City West area within the past four months.

In each robbery, the FBI says the man gives the teller a threatening note, then gets the cash and runs away.

Authorities say he wears a variety of jackets, baseball hats and hoodies in each incident, sometimes with sports teams on them.

The most recent robbery was on Friday, at the PNC Bank at 18th and Market streets. Officials say he wore a black puffy jacket and an orange construction-type vest. That same PNC Bank location was also hit on Nov. 10.

The first incident occured at a different PNC Bank, at 15th and Walnut streets, on Aug. 30. Authorities say the man also robbed the Republic Bank at 16th and Walnut streets on Sept. 2 and Nov. 19 and 29. The WSFS Bank at 16th and Chestnut streets was also targeted.

The suspect is believed to be about 6 feet tall.

Anyone who may recognize him is asked to call the FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force at 215-418-4000 or submit a tip online.
