PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A federal judge has sentenced a fourth and final person in what U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero called a “brutal sex trafficking ring” case in West Philadelphia.

Authorities say Rafael Robinson, 35, and three others operated a strip club and brothel in Mill Creek, where they coerced victims into prostitution.

Federal officials say they subjected a woman to “repeated acts of sadistic torture,” and Robinson committed “acts of force, threats, fraud and coercion.”

Robinson has been sentenced to 17 years and six months in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release. He must also pay $459,000 restitution.

The other three suspects have already been charged, with prison sentences totaling 130 years and 4 months.

“The crimes committed in this case were truly horrific,” said Romero. “While the victims may never fully recover from the crimes committed against them, they can rest assured that these four perpetrators have now been brought to justice.”
