PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Philadelphia Parking Authority expects a lot of traffic during this summer’s FIFA World Cup 26 Fan Festival at Lemon Hill. That’s why it’s offering free parking permits to residents who park nearby to help keep parking-related overflow out of neighborhood streets.

PPA said the temporary permits will be required for all vehicles parked on the street within the Lemon Hill area from Thursday, June 11, through Sunday, July 19. Current permit holders are not exempt; vehicles must have a temporary permit to avoid getting towed.

"We are going to be out there. We are going to have detailed parking enforcement officers that are normally not in that area out there every day, really patrolling, so then if there is a vehicle out there that doesn't have a permit, they are going to be prone to get ticketed,” PPA Executive Director Corinne O'Connor told our newsgathering partners at NBC10.

The interactive map below highlights the permit zone boundaries and streets where the temporary permits are required. Permit zone boundaries can be found here.

Applications can be submitted online at https://philapark.org/LemonHill/ or in person at the PPA Permit Office at 35 N. Eighth Street. All you need is a digital copy of your proof of residency and your current Pennsylvania vehicle registration

Once approved, you will receive a virtual residential permit and two visitor day passes.

And if you don’t have a vehicle, you can still receive two visitor day passes with proof of residency.
