PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Immigrant advocates are urging business owners and event planners to take a free online training course to prepare for possible ICE activity at FIFA World Cup watch parties in Philadelphia.
Olyvia Armstrong, political director of the Pennsylvania Immigration Coalition, said World Cup events are likely to attract a lot of foreign-born fans.
“These trainings will ensure that planners are equipped to understand their rights and support them in developing proactive safety plans in the event that ICE shows up,” she said.
The trainings are being offered on Thursday, June 4, and on Monday, June 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Those interested can register here.
