PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two new mayors are making history in South Jersey.

Quinton Law took the oath of office in Moorestown, Burlington County Monday night, becoming the first Black mayor in the township.

It’s also a promotion: Law was the youngest and first Black council member in Moorestown when he was sworn in three years ago at the age of 23.

On Tuesday, Nicole Roberts will become the first Black woman to be sworn in as mayor of Pennsauken, Camden County.

Roberts is a native of the township and has served on the township committee for four years.
