PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The amount of food we eat each day and the quality of our food can have a dramatic impact on everything from cardiovascular health to blood sugar.
The foods we eat every day can also affect our skin. The most important thing is drinking plenty of water, but our skin craves both vitamin C and vitamin A.
Fruits, vegetables, fish and green leafy vegetables can help fulfill that requirement. Zinc is often overlooked, but this mineral plays a major role in wound healing and can be found in lean beef or pork as well as turkey breast. There are also zinc-fortified cereals.
The good news is that you don't have to worry about the way diet impacts each organ system. Most of the healthy food groups work throughout our body.
