PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A former middle school teacher at a Philadelphia charter school will spent 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty in October to one count each of enticement of a minor and production of child pornography.

Christopher O’Sullivan, 32, admitted to sending sexually explicit text messages to a 12-year-old student over the course of several weeks in June and July of 2019, at one point asking the boy to send naked pictures of himself.

The child did, and the parents found the picture on his phone and reported the activity to the authorities.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative of the U.S. Department of Justice to fight child sexual abuse and exploitation.

In addition to his 15-year sentence, O’Sullivan will have 10 years of supervised release, and he is ordered to pay $5,200 restitution.
