PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A woman wanted for a deadly Pennsylvania Turnpike crash in Lehigh County more than a year ago was arrested in Northeast Philadelphia Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, Onanyeli Rosario-Mesa, 25, was driving under the influence in March of 2025, when she went the wrong way on Route 476 in Allentown, striking a group of motorcyclists. A 50-year-old man was killed. A warrant was issued for her arrest but she failed to surrender.
“The Marshal Service received an anonymous tip that Onanyeli Rosario-Mesa was in Philadelphia. The tip was pretty specific and we were able to narrow it down to a suspected apartment that she was hiding out at,” said Robert Clark, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force.
“Upon investigating that apartment, at 11 a.m., we knocked and announced our presence. She opened the door and was arrested without incident."
Rosario-Mesa was transported to the Pennsylvania State Police's Pocono Barracks where she was processed and arraigned.
“This is one of those cases where her name, her picture was out in the media,” said Clark. “It was on social media, it was on TV, it was on news radio and someone stepped up and did the right thing.”
