NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Family members and friends held a private funeral service for actor Michael K. Williams in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Tuesday morning, according to the New York Post.

The 54-year-old actor and community activist was found dead inside his Brooklyn apartment last week, which is being investigated as a possible overdose. He was found in the living room with drug paraphernalia near him.

Funeral home manager Jonathan Branam told the Post that he could not say where Williams would be buried.

Branam told Penn Live that Harrisburg was a home away from home for Williams. His mother had moved there years ago. He visited the capital often and made friends with people in town.

Williams’ loved ones are also planning to hold memorial services for him in New York City and Los Angeles, he said.

Williams’ prolific, Emmy Award-winning acting career includes roles on “The Wire,” “Boardwalk Empire,” and “The Night Of.”
