UPPER POTTSGROVE TOWNSHIP, P.A. (KYW Newsradio) — The Montgomery County Coroner's Office ruled the death of the man shot and killed by police in Upper Pottsgrove Township a homicide.
The coroner's office determined that 23-year-old Glenwood Pysher IV was killed by "gunshot wounds of the chest."
According to prosecutors, someone called 911 to report a possible break-in at a home on Snyder Road in Upper Pottsgrove Township around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.
Pysher's family said he went to the wrong backyard by mistake and thought it was his friend's house. They said responding officers got into some sort of encounter with him in the backyard, leading to an officer shooting and killing him.
Pysher's mother said Glen was set to transfer to Saint Elizabeth College in New Jersey in the fall, where he wanted to play baseball and study to become a history teacher.
The incident remains under investigation.
