SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A heavily traveled exit on a South Jersey highway is closing for two months, starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19.

Exit 1D on I-76 West to Route 130 northbound in Gloucester City will be closed for construction until approximately late March.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation said drivers should instead use I-295 North and detour through Exit 28, onto the Blackhorse Pike toward Bellmawr, then continue to Route 130 northbound.

This detour may be confusing for drivers to navigate, as it is about 1.25 miles before the Exit 1D ramp closure.

Access to the Walt Whitman and Ben Franklin bridges will remain open from Route 130 northbound.

The closure is part of a $7 million stormwater management project in multiple counties.
