PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating four people wanted in connection with the assault of a man on Temple University’s campus last week.
Just before 3 a.m., on April 20, police said a 20-year-old man was walking along the 1500 block of North Broad Street, near Jefferson Street, when a group of men in dark clothing and ski masks approached him.
The man said they asked him how much his sneakers were, and when he replied, they offered to buy them off him right there. The man refused and started walking away, and one of the men punched him.
The man continued walking, but was hit again. Officials said the man then went inside a Temple residence hall, but the group followed him into the lobby and beat him. His lip was cut, and his right hand was injured. It is not known to what extent.
Police said the group took nothing from the man, despite showing interest in his shoes.
Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the Central Detective Division at 215-686-3047/3048.
