PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is in custody after SEPTA police said his gun discharged on a Center City trolley platform on Wednesday.
According to SEPTA, the incident happened around 2 p.m. it was around 2 o'clock. A man on the 13th Street platform was fidgeting with a gun in his waistband when authorities said the weapon went off.
Officials said the man fled and hopped on a westbound trolley. He was stopped at the 40th Street station by SEPTA transit police and taken into custody.
A woman was injured, possibly by shrapnel. She was taken to a hospital for observation. An investigation is underway.
