Owner of NJ gymnastics facility accused of sexually assaulting 16-year-old girl

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The former co-owner of a gymnastics facility in Galloway Township, New Jersey is accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

Police said they received a report that 51-year-old Matthew Shriver, of Brigantine, was abusing the girl. Investigators found evidence of the abuse on the victim’s phone.

Authorities found more evidence after searching Shriver’s phone, car and his business, Everest Gymnastics.

The gym said it has cut all ties with Shriver and he is no longer allowed near the business.

Shriver is facing multiple charges, including aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, resisting arrest, and evidence tampering. He will remain jailed pending a future court date.
