South Jersey cop accused of stealing drugs from evidence room

SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A detective sergeant in Hammonton, New Jersey is accused of stealing drugs from the police department’s evidence room.

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, 45-year-old Robert Zbikowksi is facing a list of charges, including official misconduct, theft, evidence tampering and related offenses.

Officials said the officer first failed a drug test earlier this year. It came back with a positive result for methamphetamines.

Upon further investigation, authorities discovered Zbikowski had taken drugs out of the Hammonton Police Department’s evidence room, including methamphetamines and oxycodone.
