SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — The six COVID-19 vaccine mega sites in New Jersey now offer assistance for anyone with a hearing issue.
People who are deaf or hard of hearing can get the assistance needed any time at all six sites, according to Elizabeth Hill, executive director of the New Jersey Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
“We want to make sure that all New Jerseyans feel as comfortable as possible with this vaccination process," Hill said.
"We have interpreters at each of the mega sites in person, and if need be, we have tablets available to connect to the in person interpreter with the remote person at another site.”
She explained there is no need to call ahead for an American sign language interpreter.
People can go up to the registration desk and ask for assistance when they arrive.
The interpreters will be on site from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., seven days a week.
