PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police said Tuesday they are investigating a pair of homicides that happened in the span of little more than an hour, within a four-block area in the city's Kensington neighborhood.
The first happened at about 6:55 p.m. on East Lippincott Street near Kensington Avenue. Someone shot a man five times, including once in the face and again in the chest.
He was taken by police to the hospital, where he died.
The second deadly shooting happened at about 8:05 p.m. Someone shot a 23-year-old man four times in the head. Police took the victim to the hospital, where he died.
Police had no initial word of any arrests or weapons being recovered at either crime scene. There was also no initial word of any connection between the deadly shootings.
