PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — It's almost time to purchase back-to-school supplies, and it is never too early to start getting the kids back on a schedule. Children between the ages of six to 12 need between nine and 12 hours of sleep each night.
Once the freedom of summer is gone and the school schedule begins, it is important to get kids to bed earlier in the evening.
The best way to help make this happen is to gradually move the summer bedtime schedule to an earlier bedtime suitable for school. This is very difficult to do in a couple of days, so gradually start the process now.
