PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are looking for a man they said stole a car in the Hunting Park neighborhood, then sexually assaulted the 12-year-old girl he found asleep in the backseat.

Officers responded to the intersection of Germantown and Erie avenues around 9:30 p.m. Friday night. That's where they said the girl had been sleeping in the back of a white 2010 Ford Taurus that was left running, with the keys in the ignition.

Less than half an hour later, they found a girl matching her description a few blocks away at Broad Street and Roosevelt Boulevard. According to investigators, the girl had been sexually assaulted and was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The car, a white Ford Taurus, hasn't been found.

Police described the suspect as a thin man who was wearing all dark clothing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Special Victims' Unit or the department's anonymous tip line at 215-686-TIPS.
