PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are trying to locate the owners of several pieces of stolen luggage that were recovered from a home in West Philadelphia.

Police say the luggage was taken from baggage claim at Philadelphia International Airport in September.

Police said they issued a warrant for the arrest of 48-year-old Julius Cook of West Philadelphia.

"PPD understands the frustration and inconvenience that stolen luggage can cause," the department said in a statement, "and we are fully committed to reuniting passengers with their belongings. Investigators are working diligently to investigate each case and encourage affected passengers to reach out to us promptly so that we can initiate the process of returning the items that have been recovered."

Passengers who have lost luggage should contact the Philadelphia Police Department's airport unit at 215-937-6927. Passengers are being asked to provide flight information, a description of the luggage and any unique identifiers, such as tags or distinctive features, when they make a report.
