PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Linc has hosted Taylor Swift for concerts, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé and plenty of other superstars. Thursday night, it’s Jason Kelce’s turn.
He won’t be centerstage — that’s reserved for the Eagles when they take on the Washington Commanders at 8:15 p.m.
But before the big showdown, Kelce will put on a show of his own. He and the band Mt. Joy will perform a brief concert at 6:30 p.m. on Pepsi Plaza, located on the north end of the Linc.
It will be our first taste of his new “Philly Special Christmas” single, “Santa Drives an Astrovan,” which comes out at midnight.
“I don’t know if this is the right thing to do,” he chuckled on his “New Heights” podcast. “The Eagles are about to play the most important game of the year, they’re playing the Washington Commaders, and me and Mt. Joy are gonna go in there before the game kicks off and perform a Christmas song.”
All funds from the album, “A Philly Special Christmas Party,” go toward local charities, including Children’s Crisis Treatment Center’s Holiday Toy Drive and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Snowflake Station.
