PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — With only two games into the season, Jenkintown High School is ending its varsity football program early this year.
The school district’s athletic director and principal told the school community that there were not enough players on the team to play a whole season and keep everybody safe.
However, officials said the football program itself is not folding. There will still be practices, skill development, and strength and conditioning.
They said they hope to recruit more players and have a varsity team in the future.
Jenkintown is Montgomery County’s smallest school district.
