PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — First lady Jill Biden is coming to Philly for Independence Day.
She will join Welcome America’s Celebration of Freedom Ceremony at Independence Hall Sunday morning. The ceremony recognizes select nonprofits, activists and community leaders, and service members and veterans.
It will also feature an abbreviated reading of the Declaration of Independence and performances by the Philly POPS, R&B artist Saleka, and Philly’s own Cam Anthony, who recently won “The Voice.”
The event takes place Sunday at 10:30 a.m. It is free and open to the public, though space is limited and first-come, first-served. The ceremony will also be broadcast on NBC10.
Later that evening, the Welcome America concert — featuring pop singer Bebe Rexha and rapper Flo Rida — will take place at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, rather than its usual spot along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The fireworks show will still take place at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Both the concert and fireworks show will also be broadcast on NBC10.
