PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Fire crews have placed a large warehouse fire in Kensington under control.
The fire broke out around 5 a.m. Friday near the Market-Frankford Line at E Street and Kensington Avenue. SEPTA said there was no impact on the El.
Heavy smoke filled the air. The Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management told people who live near the warehouse to close their windows for the time being. Some residents were evacuated.
There’s no word on any injuries or what may have caused the fire.
Road closures are expected to remain in place as fire officials investigate.
