PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Years ago, I met one of the top weight loss experts in the country. At the time, he was a physician at the University of Pennsylvania, and during our conversation, he pointed to five bookshelves packed with books.
He said his entire library consisted of diet books — and then said he didn't need five bookshelves to explain diet.
He wrote down "calories in versus calories out" — five words competing against thousands of books.
The simple message: Watch the calories and exercise regularly. The weight will come off. Of course, the types of calories, as well as your metabolism, have an impact, but I wish I still had the notepad with those words. Not much I have seen in my medical career has been more accurate.
