PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — With the onset of flu season, many are wondering about the safety of getting a flu shot and COVID-19 jab during the same visit.
For one, it is certainly more convenient. But the answer is yes, it is safe.
The CDC sees no issue, and a new study says there is no decrease in the effectiveness of either vaccine if given together.
It is recommended that people get the flu vaccine by the end of October, but the sooner you get the COVID-19 vaccine, the safer you will be.
If you have any concerns, you should talk it over with your physician. In medicine, there is a long history of giving several vaccines at the same visit.
